Welcome Home Techie (Again...Again)

So, Techie ran away again. He's basically been holding a grudge since he was unceremoniously booted out of the house when my daughter started crawling. So, he was found again and I decided to grant him passage back to the inner sanctum to spend the rest of his years in comfort (if you forget about the 3yr old that will torment him).

Techie's 12, which means that he will be not be with us much longer (if you believe the breed statistics). I think he still has a few more good years with us! His eyes are clouding over, he walks a bit gingerly from age, but he's still the silly naughty puppy that I brought home with me so many years ago.

I went to the pet store and guilt-purchased $90 worth of stuff: dog bed, nylabone, shed-x shampoo and supplement (ok, those purchases are for my benefit haha).

My daughter seems over the moon to have him in the house, and so does Jaime. I'm publicly complaining of the hair already, but I'm so happy to have him :-)

Welcome Home (AGAIN) Techie

Techie's intelligent and troublesome son, Techie Junior (TJ) let his dad out of the yard again on Friday. TJ came home, but of course Techie decided he'd stay out and depress me when I was trying to study for my final exam. We drove around for hours trying to locate him, but to no avail. I was especially sad in the morning when Mia was asking for the "wow wow" and I didn't write my exam with as much enthusiasm as I'm known for.

An email had been sent to the Belmopan Humane Society, who circulated it amongst their members. Later on Saturday afternoon, two lovely people saw him hanging out in the street near home and scooped him up and brought him back to me. Thank you so much. Not many people would want to put a stinky, shedding dog in their vehicle. You've made a little girl (and her mom and dad) happy!

Let me just say, Belmopan Humane Society ROCKS!

He's started headbutting the bedroom door open (I had to put a hook and eye on it), darting out the front door when we're trying to leave, digging in the closet (again) and just being an all around ass**** LOL!

Dinky belonged to my human grandma and she was at least 18 years old (if not more!) She passed on to doggy heaven this morning and we hope she'll say hello to Buster (the dog and the gingy cat), all the Ozzies especially Adam's little Ozzy (these people aren't very creative with names), Pippy, Taco, Tina, Rusty, Freddie and any other special animals we loved and lost.

Techie keeps licking at his stitches and is opening them up again, and with no e-collar available, we have resorted to these stylish teal pants. Thanks for the idea, Charlie! The pants are tied to his collar to stop them from falling down. I bet he's naked by the time I get home, though :-)

Techie seems to be recovering, but I'm still watchful over him. He has to see the vet this morning because he licked open his stitches!

It's amazing to me how fast he came back from the brink; I really hope he stays with me a few more years. I'm not ready for him to leave me yet :-)

Techie had emergency surgery today and a set of 2 baby socks was removed from his intestines!!

His liver and kidney damage aren't as bad as the Dr. thought, BUT he has severe infection of the intestine. The Dr. cut out the necrotic sections but the entire thing is bloody and infected so he is on strong antibiotics. It will be a watch and wait situation...please say a little doggy prayer for him to St. Francis or whoever you pray to. We love him so much :-(

Techie's home from the vet. An enema was administered but nothing wanted to come out. It seems the obstruction is stuck right in the wazoo. I'm giving him mineral oil in the hopes that will help, but if by Sunday nothing comes out, then he has to have surgery on Monday :-(

Techie has an obstruction in his tummy which caused liver issues. He's at the vet right now on a drip to hydrate him and give him antibiotics. We've been told to feed him mineral oil when he gets home, in the hopes of getting out whatever he has in there.

This is the 2nd time he's gotten so ill from eating things he shouldn't. In 2001 he swallowed a hair scrunchie (hence his middle name) and he didn't eat for 13 days, and the vet was treating him for tick fever ayayay. I woke one morning to find diarrhea all over the kitchen with a scrunchie in the center. After that he was fine. He's older now, though. Say a little doggy prayer to St. Francis that he gets better.

Yeah, so it's me the Techiedog... 3 weeks ago mom came home with her human puppy and I'm pleased to announce that it doesn't make too much noise, nor does it steal my toys.

HOWEVER, I have been unceremoniously banned from sleeping in mom's bedroom AND mom talks to the baby more than me!!! I mean, she used to annoy me with all the dressing up and balancing things on my head, but now I sorta miss it. I also overheard her saying that this baby is going to pull my tail and chase me when it gets bigger. I'm not sure I like the sound of that!

Anyway, I've been very good and mostly ignore the baby so mom says I'm a good dog. BAHH HUMBUG!!!!

Hi, yeah it's me. I'm still here! Mom abandoned me for 3 weeks with mr. man while my auntie and uncle were visiting for the summer, and now she's too busy worrying about "peanut" to blog for me. Grrrr!@##@#! Aaanyways, those 10 puppies of mine are growing up beautifully (of course they are, they're MY babies). They'll soon be ready for adoption, just in time because mom is having her pup in about 3 weeks. Anyways, she says she's gonna post photos soon. It will be nice for poor Izzy to have her life back!!!

Techie dog is a daddy! Izzy had...wait for it...11(ELEVEN!!) puppies on Saturday night! She went into labor around 9pm and dropped 2 puppies in the garden in the DARK and mom had to go and find them when she heard the squeakies. Techie dog licked all their faces and thinks that he makes pretty puppies! Mom is crazy because she says she might have to keep a little boy! That will be 3 big doggies in the house, just like Amber-Mae's house...plus a new hooman baby on the way too in October! Ahhhhh!!! Mom says Izzy is sooo getting spayed soon :-) More pics later!

This was in beginning of June but mom just decided to post it for me. Yeah, so she had her shoes all neatly organized in stacked plastic containers but techie dog wanted to sleep in the closet. Sooo...when mom wasn't home i opened the doors and dug into the containers until they moved, and took out shoes and spread them around and made myself a nice comfy nest. It was really cozy until Dad got home and saw the "mess" i made. I'm sad, I really liked sleeping on mom's smelly shoes!

Hello fuzzybutts! Well, Mr. Man is living with us now so he is officially my new DAD! He said I can use his last name and everything. He's been pretty good this week, taking me for walks and catching me and izzy when we escaped the other day. He sneaks us treats as well, even though mom wouldn't approve, and lets me sleep on the bed. I guess he can stay :-)

I like to chill on the veranda in the cool mornings, while izzy runs about finding junk in the garden and rolling in the grass. Dad brought some outdoor chairs, and they sure look comfy...maybe they'll let me test one out this weekend. Would be a good pic mom, hint hint!

Dad has 2 doggies that live about 5 minutes away with his mom. A huuuge golden and a wittle bouncy cockerspaniel. Hopefully we'll all make good friends and can play together. Anyway, I'm gonna to and hump Dad's leg and rub hair over mom's burgundy sofa. Poor mom is working (loser! hehe).

Saturday with mom

Today I decided to relax while mom cleaned the house all around me. I tried to blend into the curtains so that she would leave me alone to sleep - and it worked!! Good camouflage!

It rained a bit in the evening and Izzy found a froggy and was playing with it. See it running for its life on the right? Poor thing. Mom made her leave it alone and it hopped away into the darkness.

She's been reading a lot lately, and I guess the book must be good because it has WOLVES on the cover, and Techie dog was a wolf in his past life. I think it's a scawy book though, so I won't try and taste it. Izzy already tried another Stephen King last month, and she said it didn't taste so good and mom wasn't happy sweeping up the mess.

I'm posting this for mom, who thought it was funny. The message on TV station said "out of air" instead of "off the air." Mom thought it was hilarious. NERD!

Yeah I'm back! I was on pawliday for 5 days and forgot to tell mom where I was going. Sorry mom! Izzy missed me too, so I have to give her extra kisses.

Mom missed me and cried every day. Of course she did, I mean, look how cute I am. Ay ay ay she won't leave me alone now though! See Techie giving mom annoyed look...

I gave up and went to sleep, and still the kisses! See my nose? Mr. man says that I have a "manly" nose now. I won't say how I got the injury, but if it was from fighting, I bet that I won every battle!

Izzy doesn't like the camera. Don't frown! You'll get wrinkles!

Izzy says hi to everyone! I told her to start her own blog, but she said she's only 8 months old and can't type yet. Whatevvvs!

This is Techie's mom, and my last post here before Techiedog takes over. I am so happy to tell you that after 5 days of crying, searching, posting fliers and general misery and depression (magnified by my pregnant hormones), my dog-child has come home!!!

I got the call in the late morning, that Techie was possibly found. I asked them to describe his personality, rather than his looks and they said he kept begging on his haunches and that he could lie down on command. The thing that really made me believe it was him was when they said that they can't open a car door without him jumping in. THAT is his main crack-cocaine - car rides!!!!

He was found 3 miles away from home at a resort, where some very nice people (including archaeology students - hi guys) were taking care of him. Techie runs away in style apparently. He was found by a river and taken across to the resort in a boat. In a boat!! hehehe. He was there for 2 days, when a flier was spotted here in town at a local ATM where it was posted. Funny thing is, we posted over 60 fliers over 3 days, but that was one of the first we put up hehe.

When we got to the resort he came to mr. man and I, and started barking and carrying on, and put his head straight in his leash with no problems and dragged me to the truck for the ride home.

Techie is healthy, but very skinny and his nose looks like he's had a few battles along the way. I bet he left a few broken hearted doggies along the way as well!! He was full of fleas (resort is in the jungle and there are lots of other animals including dogs , horses and MONKEYS there) so mr. man gave him a nice bath straight away.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone that supported me with calls, prayers and assistance - especially Jaime (mr. man) who was tireless in his efforts to find Techie, and gave me a nice strong (muscular) shoulder to cry, slobber and snot on. My baby and doggies have a good papa.

A Ray of Hope

I got a call this afternoon, that someone may have found Techie. They described him begging on his haunches, lying down on command and jumping in any open vehicle. Sounds a lot like him!!! The people saw a flier that we posted in the a bank ATM. The place he was found is miles away from here, and they have been taking care of him for 2 days. Here's hoping it's the scrunchiebutt himself. We're going to get him after work. Will let you know!

Mom and Mr. Man are CHRISTMAS FOOLS! Don't believe me? Check this out!

Mom had already gotten this lot of Christmas socks (ayayay). You know, she actually wore them at work! No shame. Techie dog embarrassed!

So then apparently, she didn't have enough, and last night she and Mr. Man went out buying MORE Christmas socks!!! Those two are really nuts. Remind me next time I go walkies to walk in front of them so people don't know I'm mom's doggy! The shame!

And it gets worse...you know Mr. Man put on the socks and mom was like, "ooh let me take a pic!" (Techie dog shaking his head) And then he even put them on for work today!!! Those two deserve each other. Techie dog is stuck with Christmas nut cases!

Of course, mom wasn't content until she harassed Techie dog with the socks!

Isn't this some form of animal cruelty? Is there a Toll Free number I can call to report this?
Not even Izzy was immune to the harassment. Ayayaya...anyone else out there getting Christmas torture and sillyness overdoses from their parents?

Christmas Tree complete!

Mom decided to finish off the tree tonight...first she put the "berries" (because she doesn't like tinsel).

Then when all the ornaments were on, she made Techie dog pose (of course she did!) Mom said that 90% of the ornaments on the tree are hand made by her, my grandma, and aunties. Cool!

Izzy doesn't know how to "stay" yet...so was a little harder to get her to pose hehe!

But finally got an almost decent shot of her keeping still hehe...

And now here is Techie dog in the darkness, concentrating and sending psychic messages to Santa Paws to pweeze bring me lots of nice edibles for Christmas!

Christmas Tree!

Mom finally got around to putting up our tree...she usually puts it up EARLY, but this year she was lazy hehehe...so she started by sweeping the floor and moving furniture around...then tree time...

Techie dog was interested in the fuzzy prickly branches...mom said nooo Techie, so all I could do was watch her...

Izzy was a good girl...she sat with Techie dog and just watched and didn't try to eat the tree...

We waited and waited...booring, mom you taking too long! We chewed on Binkie a bit, but got bored again waiting for this tree to go up....

Finally, we dozed off because tree was STILL not up...we didn't even notice when mom took out the lights and started putting them around the tree...

Ta daaah!! The tree's finally up with the lights and tree skirt (that mom's mom crochet for her)...now it will just take her another 5 years to put up the ornaments and angel (ouch! mom bopped my head). I wonder if Izzy will try to eat the ornaments hehehe.

Puppy disaster #1

Ok...so Izzy had her first puppy oopsy...she was running around and knocked over Mr. Planty (the only plant mom hasn't been able to kill yet)

There was soil all over the place...luckily the pot didn't break, only the little saucer thing. When Techie dog was little, me decided to dig up the mattress on mom's bed...oh and me chewed mom's new expensive glasses! (hehehe me good now though!)

Vet trip!

Izzy & Techie dog went to the vet on Saturday. Me needed my yearly shots and Izzy needed something to control her temper...(mom says: DISTEMPER, silly)

So this is Izzy on vet table...mom asked Mr. Man to take pics...I think Techie dog must have been pulling on him because sooo blurry! Izzy was good girl, didn't cry or bite mr. vet man...

So then it was Techie dog's turn, and me was verrry good (of course) and I left the vetty man a nice present of hair all over his table...So then we left the vet office and Mr. Man heard a weird noise in his Jeep, oh noooo...and he said something about his steering feeling hard...and then something broken oh nooo...so we parked the Jeep and had to walk. Mom didn't mind (she likes to walk) and Techie dog is a great walker...but Mr. Man was tired (aww hehe). Was a pretty walk through the park and Techie dog and Izzy saw birds!!!

So then when we got home, Mr. Man had to make call to mechanic....poor Jeepy

It was a rainy wet day, and Techie dog got dirty (see my toes!) and my belly too...me left nice dirt patches on mom's white floor.

And Mr. Man was wearing black shirt and got Izzybella hair all over him hehehehe!

And even on his chin!! Look, he trying to grow fur on his chin haha, maybe so mom loves him as much as Techie dog? He sneaky!! Well that was my weekend adventure, Woof!

Christmas Memories...

It is well known around here that Techie dog's mom and her family are CRAZY, NUTS, WHACKO about Christmas...I mean, they make ornaments all year and want to sing carols from OCTOBER ayayay. Anyway, here is the first inevitable (yes, Techie dog knows big words) Christmas post...
Old Christmas photo #1: Ok so here was mom, kinda chubby that year...OUCH mom bopped my head. Anyway, as Techie dog was saying, this was us around 2002 so I guess Techie dog was just 2 years old awwww...And mom had no gray hairs hehe...ouch moooom!!

Old Christmas photo #2: this was mom and Techie dog about 3 years ago...see my face is nice and yellow, no white hairs yet...and mom was still in her 20's hahahah. OUch..mom bopped me on head.Old Christmas Photo #3: See I'm annoyed...always with this camera, ever since I was born ayayay. Guess I have to get used to it because I'm so handsome...Note the stolen ornament by my foot...ayayay I got scolded. I never steal ornaments now.

This is the first ornament mom made so far this year. She's behind, she better start crafting fast! Oh and most of the ornaments on the tree are made by mom and her family, and grandma crocheted the tree skirt....ayayay ok that's enough of Christmas for now...I'm sure she'll make us pose when our tree is put up for this year...sigh :-)

What a rainy day! Mom says that Techie dog's supposed to be a WATER dog, but I hate getting bathed and I don't like the rain and wet grass on my tootsies. I pee, and run straight back inside...but Izzy is W E I R D...she loves water! She even sits in my water bowl!

This is MOM. I am happy to report that Techie seems to have accepted Izzy. He is so gentle with her and seems very interested. Izzy already seems to recognize grass as the accepted surface for potty time, even though she still has a few accidents. It's only day 2 and she's just a baby, so she's off to a great start.

EMERGENCY! Mom says this thing is coming to live with us next Sunday. Techie dog is very worried. Last month she bought home different nippy yippy small thing. Techie dog was afraid and so Mr. Man took him home (hi Humphrey). Vet says Techie will love little girl dog. She's a retriever too, but a hairy scary one - a golden retriever. Techie dog says mom gone crazy. Would call nut house but then who would give Techie cheese? Will cross paws that Izzy behaves and "respects mah authoritay." Maybe she turns out sweet. Mom says: Izzy will stay no matter what, she is expensive. You will learn to love her, give her a chance. Maybe Techie dog wuffs her? Hmm wimmin, heard about them, never seen one. We see sooon!

It's the weekend again, and that means only one thing. HIM!
Yes! How can mom choose this over handsome Techie? He doesn't have luxurious golden fuzz (tho i see he's trying to grow something on his face). He doesn't know how to balance things on his nose like Techie dog does (he drools and makes mess when eating like Techie tho). Techie mad (and jealous).

See how she leaves me all alone? Techie wants out too! This is so not cool with Techie dog.
They go out and eat and don't save anything nice to give me. Mean humans! Must work on my cuteness to get more attention from mom, or else start biting mr. man when he visits.

First Blog!

Hello I'm Techie dog. Mom says my middle name is "scrunchiebutt" because I once swallowed a hair scrunchie (how undignified!). I live in Belize ("huh, where?" GOOGLE it man!), and have a nice green yard to romp about in and sniff and find avocados for mom. Yeah, so since she is nuts in love with me (who wouldn't be) and takes a ton of photographs (who can blame her), I've set up this blog to document the fuzzy dog days of my life (insert sands through the hour glass here).
